“The Price of Honor”

“The Price of Honor” premieres at the Cinema Village in New York City on February 8th, so we thought it would be a good idea to repeat our interview with Nagmeh “Neena” Nejad, co-director of the film, in honor of this very important film.

Come and join us for the premiere of “The Price of Honor” in New York. The film will start right after a short introduction by producer Sogol Tehranizadeh.

After the screening, the consulting producer and cast member Amy Logan, also a human rights activist and the author of The Seven Perfumes of Sacrifice (a novel on the origins of honor killing) will talk briefly about honor violence in the USA and will introduce the filmmakers and specials guests that will be part of the Q&A and panel.

Directors of the film, Neena Nejad and Xoel Pamos, will answer the questions of the audience with Sogol Tehranizadeh and the cast member, Ruth Trotter, who will share her experience coping with honor violence.

Our special guest, Stephanie Baric, the Executive Director at the AHA Foundation, will talk about honor violence internationally and she will explain the mission of the AHA Foundation.

Ms. Baric has developed CARE’s girls’ leadership index and adapted the Gender Equitable Men Scale to measure gender perceptions in youth programs. She has also worked in the US on a major advocacy campaign promoting the end of child marriage in developing countries.

To close the event, audience will be informed of the #CATCHYASERNOW Campaign and they will be invited to join it.
